When is the best time to book a lifestyle session?

​

These are family-focused sessions, so I like to wait until around the 2-week old mark.  By that time you've at least started to get into a groove and mom's milk has come in if nursing.  Depending on the best spots in your home light-wise to photograph (usually the nursery, living room or bedroom) and baby's nap time, we work together to find the best time of day for your session, usually in the morning. 

 

Does my house have to be clean?! 

This is by far my most asked question.  I get it!  Postpartum is a busy, emotional and blur of a time.  No need to clean your house from top to bottom, but a general pick up is recommended.  Anything you'd like to keep out of photos, like water bottles, trash or laundry is recommended to be cleaned- or at least moved to an out of sight spot!  While it's not required, it would be a great post-baby gift from friends or family to gift a house cleaning before your session.  Then maybe send dad for a cup of coffee or a special treat for you the day of!  It's about connection and experience, not a perfectly dusted or cleaned home.  

 

What do we wear?  What does baby wear?

Wear what makes you feel nice!  A loose fitting dress.  Comfy pants.  Pajamas.  Maybe a more formal look because it feels good to get dressed up.  I'll leave it up to you.  You do you!

Baby can wear whatever they're adorable in!  I always bring a wrap or two, along with a few headbands for girls, and some sweet little outfits.  You don't have to use them, but they're a good option if you want a change.  I do recommend putting baby in outfits that don't bunch up on faces and that are maybe a smaller size than typical, so we can see more baby than bulky outfit.  Footless/sockless is adorable too- I always take detail shots of little newborn baby feet!

How long after my session will I get my images and what is that process?

About a week after your session I will send a link via email that has your gallery link!  You can download, share (and PLEASE back the images up!) and even order from that gallery link if you like!  I use a gorgeous professional quality printer.  You can also download and print, your gallery will include a print release.
