Newborn Sessions
Newborn photography is my specialty and probably my most favorite subject to photograph. Choosing a newborn photographer is no simple task.
Newborn sessions are “baby-led,” meaning I take my cues from baby, and that every session is as unique as the newborn themselves! I take pride in carefully planning and designing each session and creating classic, timeless images you’ll be proud to display for years. I have an assistant for every newborn session (your little one's safety is my #1 priority!) , so parents are free to watch, relax on my couch (I won't tell if you take a little nap!), or bounce between the studio and living room to rest.
It's my goal to provide you with a relaxing, safe, comfortable experience that will be a fond memory for years to come!

FAQ's
When should I book my session?
As soon as possible! My calendar fills up quickly and there's no guarantee that I'll have time in my schedule, so inquiring and booking early is important!
Newborn sessions are typically scheduled for 7-15 days after baby's due date, then we can move the session date forward or back based on when baby actually arrives.
Newborn sessions start at 9am on weekday mornings in my Stuarts Draft studio, and can last 3-4 hours depending on the type of session and baby.
How long do sessions last?
Full newborn sessions last about 3-4 hours, depending on baby!
What happens if my baby cries during my newborn session or is awake?
This is such a common concern! Rest assured, my assistant and I have done hundreds of sessions and have learned lots of tips and things to make things so smoother. Babies will cry, it's their only means of communication. I have a method of waiting on baby to fall asleep (its called "unsoothing") that doesn't ever involve baby crying for extended periods of time. I am used to waiting on baby to wear him/herself out while relaxing in the heat. Patience is key! Please don't stress, I promise I'm not! This is meant to be a relaxing experience for both baby and parents.
My toddler can be a bit energetic! What happens during the session if he/she won't settle?
This is also a common concern. I am the parent of three very energetic children, so I completely understand your concern! I can be found playing peekaboo or making silly jokes to get them to send some genuine smiles my way, giving goldfish crackers to shy toddlers or playing patticake to get grins. It's part of my job and I love it! Please be patient with your kiddos, it's a new process and they are not ruining your session or trying my patience. I regularly recommend promising a special treat of ice cream or something after the session (A reward for parents AND kids!) to help with the motivation!
I have a playroom in my studio which is a perfect reward for giving smiles and snuggles during their part of the photo session!
