I never done a senior session in a theater/auditorium before yesterday, but this one at the bar high…I can’t wait to do the next one! 😍
Fun fact- before I was a photographer I was a high school band director and spent many, many hours on this same stage in rehearsals or class. It was a fun “full circle” moment to be there doing something completely different!

Senior sessions are always different and that is what is so fun!
Water felt amazing and we had perfect weather. Can you believe it was like winter just a week ago? We probably would have turned into popsicles in the water…but that’s just how spring is in Virginia! 🤪

Clouds rolled in at the exact second we started the session, McKenzie maneuvered around with a cute pair of pink crutches (not fun for her, but we made the most of it) and we got rain dumped on us at the end, but we DID IT!
All of that and this sweet girl genuinely smiled the *entire* time.

Clouds rolled in at the exact second we started the session, McKenzie maneuvered around with a cute pair of pink crutches (not fun for her, but we made the most of it) and we got rain dumped on us at the end, but we DID IT!
All of that and this sweet girl genuinely smiled the *entire* time.

This location is a special one for Cooper’s family, so it was a joy to be able to do his senior photo session there! We had only a few minutes before we started to get rained on, but we got the job done!

You can take the newborn photographer out of the studio, but you can’t always take the studio out of the photographer....😆😆
Harlie & Kye have the most beautiful home and being able to capture images in their space was so special. I *did* bring a little studio to their home with a few wraps and props in addition to the relaxed and cozy vibe, so it’s the best of both worlds!

We finally found a break in the busy schedules of life to take Dashea's senior photos, surrounded by beautiful land and quite a few lovable pups. 🎓 🐾
He is such a special young man and I know his family and friends are so proud of him!

Also, let's all wish Dashea and his team good luck as they compete in the Virginia Indoor Track Nationals on Friday!!

This winter was a long one. Cold. Dry. Full of germs. 😆
I felt like no matter what I did, I couldn't get warm and comfortable.
I needed the time to let my body start to heal- and the time spent with my little family feels like the first time ever, although I have built in time off work every year. This year was different. I slowed down long enough to enjoy it, to get comfortable and warm.

As I walk into this outdoor season (it's coming!! Just around the corner!!), I can finally take a breath in and truly enjoy the season coming. God sure has been good to me, even in the cold and dry season. There's always warm and comfortable coming after! ❤️ ☀

Lanugo is a special type of body hair found on newborn babies. A newborn baby covered in hair might be surprising, but lanugo is perfectly normal. Not all babies are born with lanugo, but all of them were coated with it in the womb. The hair usually goes away before birth, but sometimes it sticks around until a baby is born or even for a few months after.
I remember being surprised at this with my new babies, how did I not know?!
