For those fresh moments...

I'm excited to partner with Augusta Health to offer "Fresh 48" sessions!

What is a Fresh 48 Session?

A "Fresh 48" session happens in the hospital room you are in with your new baby, during your hospital stay and before discharge (approximately in the first 48 hours of baby's life).  I capture all the "fresh" of new life and it is very lifestyle and organic in nature.

No fancy props, just you and your new baby. Below are some examples of my Fresh 48 work.

I'm going to have a baby at Augusta Health and would like to do a Fresh 48 Session! How does that work?

Congratulations!  It's an exciting time!  Lots can happen before your baby comes, but it's my goal to make your Fresh 48 session as easy as possible for you and your family!

Because of the unpredictable timing of birth, I don't schedule your sessions with a specific time.  I am at Augusta Health several days a week to photograph Fresh 48 sessions, so please let your nurse know if you'd like your family/new baby to be photographed!  Once you have done so, I will be in touch!

I will also have my contact info and a QR code available in the room you will be in.  All you have to do is scan the code with your phone, pay the retainer to secure your session, and you are all set.

The retainer is non-refundable and non-transferrable.

What happens during my Fresh 48 session?

When I come into your room, I will introduce myself, sanitize my hands and grab my camera!  Sometimes I do a little tidying of the room as well to make sure I have a nice uncluttered area to photograph in.

I usually start with photos of baby alone, and often use parent hands in a few photos as well.  If you'd like to be included in the session, I will let you know the best area to sit or stand.  Don't worry, I understand that many moms are still sore and/or uncomfortable at this point and we will adjust accordingly. Don't stress about wardrobe, it's an organic environment.  Some moms choose to stay in their hospital gown, others choose something else comfortable to wear.  Dads are encouraged to dress casually as well.

You should feel comfortable and relaxed during your session time.

If siblings are in the room during this time and you'd like to include them in the photos as well, please let me know.  I am happy to include them if they are comfortable with the photo taking process.  If they are shy and uncomfortable, it's okay.  Lots has changed in their world over the last few days, and I completely understand!

It's a relatively quick process as I plan to be in and out of your room in 30 minutes or less to allow for continued bonding time with your baby or nurse/doctor attention.

What happens after my Fresh 48 Session?

After your session, I will edit and upload your gallery for you to view within 48 hours.  You will receive an email from me with a link to open and view your gallery.  You will be able to view your watermarked images and purchase if you choose.

(Please, no screenshots as it violates copyright law)

You can choose to purchase one image, several, or the entire gallery.  Your gallery will expire in a week, so you have that long to make your decision!

Once you purchase your images you can download them and they are yours to cherish forever!

Prints are available for purchase as well in your gallery. They will be shipped to your home.  This is a great option for grandparents and extended family.

What is the cost for a session?

In order to secure a session, the cost is a $25 deposit.  Once your photos are done and gallery is delivered to your inbox, you can purchase prints or digitals, whichever you choose.  The cost for prints will vary and digitals range from $25-$300.  You are under no obligation to purchase.

What other photography services do you offer?

I also love maternity and studio newborn photography as well!

Often families will book both a Fresh 48 session as well as a studio newborn session- both are very different in nature and both capture precious new life that passes by so fast. Studio newborn sessions are more posed, with all the cute props, headbands and "flair".  I have a studio located in Stuarts Draft and I keep it stocked full of everything needed for a successful studio session- you just need to bring baby!  If you are interested in a studio newborn session, please don't hesitate to contact me.  I typically schedule those sessions in my studio on a weekday morning in the first 7-18 days of life.  For more info on studio sessions, take a peek here.
